How to Live Locally this Fall!

Now that we are in October, many of us are on the search for fall festivities. Whether you want to go with friends, family, or a significant other, here’s a great list of fun, local places that hold various activities this season!

In Virginia Beach:

Cullipher Farm – 772 Princess Anne Rd (~30 mins from Regent)

Looking for a breathtaking spot to go on wagon rides, wander through corn mazes, and take cute sunflower pictures? If so, then head down to Cullipher Farm! They also have a pick-your-own fruit system where guests can harvest grapes, apples, and pumpkins to take home and eat.

They’re open Tuesday through Sunday from 9am to 6pm. For more information, click here! Pets are recommended to stay at home. If you have service animals, you should check in with staff before arriving.

Flanagan Farm – 1707 Princess Anne Rd (~20 mins from Regent)

On this family’s farm, they’ve got both corn and straw mazes. So if you’ve never tried either and want to do both, Flanagan’s is the place for you to go! They’ve got wagon rides that take you across their whole farm and, of course, a classic patch where you can find the perfect pumpkin to take home.

Their fall festival is open every weekend until the end of October from 10am to 6pm, which is great for college students who want to wind down after a long week! They mainly post updates on Facebook, but they also have a site here.

Hunt Club Farm – 2388 London Bridge Rd (~20 mins from Regent)

Spend a day at Hunt Club Farm, where there’s a giant pumpkin patch and an awesome petting zoo! If you simply want to enjoy the fall air, you definitely can by trying out the hay rides they offer and exploring their Tree Walk Adventure. There are even carnival rides, vendors, and a DJ when you visit on a weekend! For those who are into the spooky scene, find a date on their website’s calendar and dare to buy a scream ticket for their annual Haunted Hunt Club.

Hunt Club Farm is open daily from 10am to 6pm. Pets can be brought to the petting zoo and farmer’s market as long as they are well-trained and on a non-retractable leash. Service dogs are only allowed during the Haunted Hunt Club and other special events. There are also wheelchair accommodations. Customers in wheelchairs can be given front-of-the-line access with the help of a staff member.

In Chesapeake:

Bergey’s Barnyard – 2207 Mt Pleasant Rd (~15 mins from Regent)

If you want to get bragging rights for going through 10 acres of a corn maze and getting behind a corn gun for a weekend, you might want to come to Bergey’s Barnyard. It’s also a great spot if you want to spend some time with farm animals or at their pumpkin patch.

This beloved farm is open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 6pm. For more specific information on pricing, take a look at their website.

Hickory Ridge Farms – 2928 S Battlefield Blvd (~20 mins from Regent)

Are you wanting to go to a particular fall festival that checks boxes for having pick-your-own pumpkins, hay rides, sunflowers, cider donuts, and a coffee truck? Hickory Ridge Farms is the perfect place to experience it all! And if you end up visiting on a weekend, there are even food trucks and face painting.

The farm’s open on weekdays from 9am to 7pm and on weekends from 10am to 7pm. To know prices for pumpkins ahead of time or find out other information, click here. Pets on a leash are allowed if they are a safe distance away from the pony arena.

Historic Greenbrier Farms – 225 Sign Pine Rd (~20 mins from Regent)

Make this the first fall where you venture through a bamboo forest! And after you’ve accomplished that, feel free to make your rounds through the farm’s corn maze, haunted attractions, hay rides, farmer’s market, or barnyard buddies. You’re more than welcome to take a look at their collection of flowers and pumpkins as well.

From Monday to Wednesday, they’re open from 9am to 6pm. On Thursday and Friday, they are open until 10pm. For the weekends, they open bright and early from 8am to 10pm. The location is wheelchair accessible and allows dogs with a leash onto the pumpkin patch! For more specific information, you can use this link.

Though the number of choices may seem overwhelming, it’s exciting to see which ones are worth trying this fall. Now it’s time to pick one to make core memories at!
