Introducing WEAP: A New Band with a Higher Calling

Regent University is home to a vibrant new band that is ready to make waves with their unique blend of worship and artistry. Meet WEAP: a four-member group whose title combines the first letters of their names—Will, Ezekiel, Anthony, and Peyton—but also symbolizes their mission to cry out to God in praise and worship.

The band’s story began one ordinary evening when they gathered for dinner and decided to sing from a hymnal Ezekiel Adams, a Music Performance major, had recently purchased. Their impromptu worship session turned into a night of inspired songwriting, yielding 14 original songs. As Peyton Singh, a Communications major, put it, “The Lord anointed us. We were like, ‘woah,’ and then we couldn’t stop writing music that night.” By morning, they had not only created a repertoire but also chosen the name WEAP and committed to sharing their gift with the Lord.

Since that night, WEAP has composed over 30 songs, each one rooted in their faith and devotion to glorifying God. Their upcoming single, Drivin’, is in the works and promises to capture listeners with its heartfelt lyrics about cruising down the road at night with a loved one. The band hinted that this track may even become part of a series of songs. Following Drivin’, the group plans to release Fight by Faith, a powerful anthem about standing strong for Jesus Christ.

WEAP’s members each bring a unique flair to the band. Ezekiel and Anthony Fitch, a Music Leadership major, contribute to the group’s musical foundation, while Peyton and Will add creative and spiritual dynamics to their sound. Together, their collaboration is driven by a shared purpose: to create music that glorifies God and spreads the message of the gospel.

“We’re doing this all to the glory of God,” said the band. “The Son of God, Jesus Christ, became flesh, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and raised again the third day. All who repent and believe in Christ will be forgiven of their sins and saved!”

Currently, the band is working on logo designs, refining their music, and seeking opportunities to perform. To stay connected with WEAP, follow them on Instagram @weap.band or reach out via email at weapband@gmail.com.

Whether they’re writing songs about faith or sharing their testimony, WEAP is here to inspire the Regent community with their music and their message. Be sure to listen for their debut single and watch for what’s next from this talented group!
