Marvel’s Upcoming Films May Shoot in Australia

It looks like Disney’s positive experience shooting Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is making them consider sending a couple superheroes down under as well.

RagnarokBoth upcoming films, Thor: Ragnarok and Captain Marvel, will be ramping up production in 2016, and it seems Australia is in the lead among the films’ location possibilities.

“The big bosses were very pleased throughout the year it took to shoot out here, and now they’re looking at bringing out one of the Marvel films,” an anonymous technicl specialist told Yahoo! News.

“It was a great experience for the studio, who were able to familiarize themselves with the set-up at Village Roadshow [studios] and the crews here. They were also able to work across a lot of different locations, which has saved them scouting for the Marvel movie.”_1427056834

The location would certainly serve as a convenient commute for Thor star Chris Hemsworth, as he lives with his wife and children in Bryon Bay.

Thor: Ragnarok is headed to theaters November, 2017 and Captain Marvel in 2018.
