Crisis Pregnancy Center to hold “Walk For Life”
Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater (CPC) is a local non-profit ministry devoted to helping women choose life, as well as encouraging women to get to know the Lord. They offer a variety of services to the men and women of Hampton Roads including “life-affirming ultra-sounds,” “crisis counseling,” Bibles and prenatal vitamins, an “Abortion Recovery ministry for both men and women,” as well as “parenting education through their Great Expectations classes.” In these classes, one has the opportunity to earn Baby Bucks redeemable for diapers, clothing, and other resources.
According to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater website,
“In the past decade, an average of more than 8,000 abortions have been performed each year in South Hampton Roads. This means for every two babies born, one will lose its life to abortion. More lives are lost to abortion than any other cause of death.”
Because of this terrible fact, this organization has devoted the past 30 years to helping women choose life.
The month of April holds CPC’s three annual Walk For Life Events. These events take place on April 11th, 18th, and 25th.This year, their goal is to accumulate 1000 fundraising walkers, which means “1000 people will have raised money and participated in one of their walks.”
Participants will bring their list of donations to the event for tabulation. Incentives are offered to those who raise certain amounts of money. This year, along with the regular fundraising incentives like t-shirts, walkers who attend the Western Branch event and raise $250 or more, will be eligible to be entered into a drawing to win a $2,000 Disney Vacation package that was generously donated to CPC. For every $250 raised, that fundraising walker earns another entry into the drawing. Ex: a walker who raises $1,000 will receive four entries.
