“Cupid’s Cabaret”: A Valentine Extravaganza!

Love is in the air!

Tell me—have you been feeling an emptiness in your life? (Instead of my voice here, imagine the sonorous tones of Billy May.) Perhaps a lack of meaning or purpose? Do your days seem to run together into gray, boring, and indistinguishable from the rest? Well, lucky for you, I know exactly what you’ve been missing: Live entertainment! And doubly lucky for you, there is a wonderful opportunity to get the cure for what ails you: Cupid’s Cabaret, running Feb. 10-12.

“Cupid’s Cabaret” is a musical and comedy showcase celebrating all that Regent theatre and Tidewater Stage (Regent’s summer stock theatre) has to offer. In the first act, you’ll be able to watch a musical reprise of Tidewater’s lighthearted and hilarious show by The Marvelous Wonderettes. In addition, there will be a display of melodies centered around the theme of love, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

But if you’re not a fan of Valentine’s Day, there’s something to take off the edge of hearing about so much love in the air during the second act—the VIP’s! The Varsity Improv Players, our resident improvisational comedy group, promise to be one of the funniest experiences you will have. I have attended several of their shows, and each time I laughed so hard I was worried I’d dislocated something.

For the literal icing on the cake, at intermission there will be a dessert reception catered by Swan Terrace. The entire night is a great way to support Tidewater Stage and unwind in the middle of the gray days our Virginia Beach winters can bring! Tickets can be purchased here. Don’t miss this great opportunity to see all that our theatre company has to offer!
