Regent partners with Up to Us to help lower national debt

Did you know that the national debt is $18,000,000,000,000? That’s $18 trillion! Did you also know that Regent University is trying to change this staggering number, and that you can help?  Regent University has a team participating in the “It’s Up to Us” challenge along with more than 47 other universities to raise awareness about the national debt. The winning team will win $10,000 and be recognized at the 2015 Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) in Miami, Florida.

“It really is up to our generation as well as the generation before and after ours to do something about this and address this issue. We believe that the first step of action is educating and raising awareness,” stated Juliana Melton, the team’s managing advisor.  Regent’s Government student team members have sponsored many events on campus and were featured on sites such as The Blaze and CBN.
