Have you ever wondered what the earth would sound like if it echoed Heaven? Many people think that to echo Heaven’s sounds, we would need a professional sound system, reverb for the mics, and Nord keyboards. However, I like what Maverick City’s song “Kingdom” says about this idea: “If you want to know what heaven sounds like, just let it fill the room.” In other words, the sound of Heaven is simply the sound of believers worshiping God together in spirit and truth.
On October 31st, over 70 Regent University students gathered to worship King Jesus and bring light on a dark day. For over two hours, these students danced, jumped, and sang at the top of their lungs rejoicing at what God was doing in and through His people. Many who were dealing with the effects of anxiety and depression were prayed over and delivered by God’s power. God spoke through his Word, reminding several people that He reigns forever and is seated on the throne.
A Connect Group Leader received a word of knowledge from the Holy Spirit that there was someone in the room with back pain. In response, a young man came to the front where several students laid their hands on this man. After they commanded all pain to leave his back, he testified that for the first time in five years, he was completely free from all back pain. The response in the room was fullness of joy because according to Psalm 16:11 “In [His] presence there is fullness of joy”(ESV). The sounds of Heaven and freedom from sin were heard on this night. Victory over sickness, pain, and all darkness was proclaimed, and true worship to Jesus was lifted. As proof of our true worship, signs and wonders followed us. In Mark 16:17-18, Jesus said, “And these signs will accompany those who believe:…they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
This powerful night of worship shows us that the reverb on the mics doesn’t matter. The fog machines don’t matter. The lights don’t matter. Only worship done in spirit and in truth causes the earth to echo Heaven. A few weeks ago, Regent University students took the opportunity to bring the sound of Heaven to earth. Will you be the one who makes earth sound like Heaven next?
Get connected with your Connect Group Leaders and ask them when the next worship night will be. In the meantime, don’t wait for a group worship night. Start bringing the sounds of Heaven to this earth now by releasing the sound of thanksgiving to God!
