Beach Beams with Laser Lights

It’s Friday night; you and your friends are scrambling for things to do.
You went to the movies last weekend. It is too cold to hang out at the beach and the bowling thing is getting tired really fast. Someone mentions going “clubbing” but the very idea of the bar scene makes you cringe. You would rather do something safe and fun.
Why not play laser tag?
Think about it? Why not burn calories, let out your frustrations, and have a couple of laughs while you shoot a beam at unsuspecting bystanders. The best part about it is there are places in the Hampton Roads area.
“Laser Quest” is a family-friendly entertainment venue that offers laser tag, video games and much more. This affordable hangout in Virginia Beach, is right off of Interstate 264, and is a great spot on a Friday or Saturday night.
You and the crew can sign-up at the front desk and wait for the next available session. Or if you are a planner, you can place a reservation in advance for a session and your time spot will be waiting for you. And get this – general admission is only
$ 8.50, that is cheaper than going to see the latest movie.
On the Peninsula check out “LazerRush” in Newport News. This “state of the art” venue is located in Kiln Creek right off of Jefferson Ave. It has the latest technology with a computer system that allows guests to play a variety of gaming options.
Not sure what to expect?
Firstly, expect to have a great time!
At “Laser Quest,” before you enter the laser tag room you are given a brief orientation. The instructor tells you how to put on the equipment and shows the proper usage of the laser beam (it is important to make sure you are actually aiming at your targets), along with going over the do’s and don’ts. Next you get suited up with a vest and the attached laser beam.
You are ready to go!
The actual laser room is divided into two levels, with a variety of corners, enclaves, and hiding places. Running is prohibitive at all times, plus with the fare scent neon lighting it is hard to see; your best bet, move swiftly but be careful and watch your step.
You have the option of teaming up with the people you are with or going for yourself. It may be best to divide yourself into groups and work together. After the session is complete the person with the highest score wins.
“LazerRush,” offers 4700 square feet of movable space, and two ramps separate the space in the room. Gamers are welcomed into darken room engrossed in a light fog.
The cost of one game is $8, if play for three games you pay only $21. With a theme of “Ancient Inca Stone Temple” throughout, you will feel as though you are entrenched in an Amazonian fighting battle. If you have a party of 6 or more people you can make reservations. If it is fewer than that you can walk in and enter the next available session.
Getting excited? You should be, these are two fun places to spend time with your friends, meet new friends and be entertained.
